Trivia Night

Saturday, 27 June 2009

Our major fundraising event for the year, the annual adults only Trivia Night is scheduled for the 27th June at the Royal Crest Hotel, Sylvania, commencing 7.30pm. As well as being a great night out for parents & friends, last years Trivia Night saw us raise in excess of $7000, which went to purchasing a lot of new equipment (training gear, balls, new jumpers etc) for the players.

Fin Review for Round 6

| May 23, 2009

While many sports fixtures were cancelled last Saturday, local junior AFL wasn’t one of them. The week long rain didn’t disrupt any Cronulla Junior AFL matches scheduled for Saturday 23rd May, with Cronulla playing at home on a surprisingly dry Gwawley Oval, with most Sharkies teams enjoying success.

Fin Review for Round 4

| May 9, 2009

Round 4 proved to be a tough day for the Cronulla Sharks Junior AFL Club, with only two teams posting wins—the U11 Blue team defeating Miranda Black, and the U16’s running out winners over Penshurst. The remaining teams travelled to Kelso Oval at Bankstown and encountered strong local opposition in some hard fought games.

Fin Review for Round 3

| May 3, 2009

The extended break over the school holidays, followed by no footy on the Anzac Day weekend didn’t seem to negatively impact some Sharkies teams on the weekend. Four of our six teams all registered good wins while our two losses can be attributed to a hot Ramsgate side in one instance and a slow start by our team in the other instance.

Fin Review for Round 2

| April 4, 2009

It seems like months ago that we started an AFL season, but then we haven’t played much footy since ! Anyway, after a long break the season is about to restart this Saturday 2nd May down at Gwawley when most of the Shark’s teams take on Miranda. Good luck to all teams and let’s finally play some footy.

Big Thank You to everyone who donated eggs for our Easter Raffle and bought tickets. We gave away over 20 prizes and raised over $300 for the club. So again a big thank you from the fundraising committee for making the raffle a great success.

Welcome back to another season of junior AFL with the Cronulla Sharks Junior AFL Club ! Where did the last 6 months go ? Who cares ! It’s footy season again and we head off into another 5 months of darkness, cold weather, the smell of Dencorub, and the aches and pains associated with another footy season. Yippee!
